Cookie Policy
This document explains what cookies and web storage technologies are, which cookies are used on this website, why they are needed, and how you can review or adjust your preferences at any time.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you visit a website. They are widely used by website operators to make websites work properly, provide essential security features, and deliver anonymous reporting information.
In addition to traditional HTTP cookies, websites may use modern browser storage technologies (such as Local Storage) to store user preferences on your local device.
- First-party cookies: Set directly by our website domain (
glenviewrestaurant.co.uk). - Third-party cookies: Set by trusted partner services to deliver security, bot protection, or aggregated website performance analytics.
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire as soon as you close your web browser.
- Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period or until you manually clear them.
2. Why We Use Cookies
At The Glen View Restaurant, we believe in keeping our website fast, clean, and respectful of your privacy. We use cookies and local storage for two main purposes:
1. Strictly Necessary (Essential)
Essential for website operation, navigation, and security. They include storing your cookie consent preference and verifying form submissions via Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against automated spam and malicious attacks.
2. Analytics & Performance (Optional)
Aggregated statistics provided by Google Analytics 4. These cookies are only activated if you give explicit consent by clicking “Accept analytics”. They help us understand visitor numbers and popular menus to improve our service.
We do not run third-party advertising tracking cookies or sell browsing behavior data to third-party data brokers.
